Job Overview:
Based at the Sierra Pines office in The Woodlands, TX, this position will report to the Linde Gases U.S. (LGUS) Director of Human Resources and provide support for approximately 400 employees across 12 locations in the Bulk and Onsite South Region (TX, LA, OK, and MO) and 150 employees in Linde Services Inc. (LSI) across 12 locations throughout the U.S.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Focuses on HR planning, advice, and consultative services.
- Serves as first point of contact for general HR matters for both employees and management staff. Fields questions, resolves problems, and provides guidance and assistance on policies and processes.
- Advises managers on how to handle specific situations (e.g., discipline, work practice changes, grievances)
- Prepares materials such as employee communications, training handbooks, demonstration models.
- Identifies and recommends suitable internal/external training programs with line management and coordinates scheduling of training locations and participants.
- Leads regional performance, salary administration, succession planning, and talent management processes.
- Coordinates job postings and transfer programs
- Participates in the recruitment process, creating and reviewing internal/ external ads, narrowing down candidates, and preparing compensation proposals.
- Investigates and resolves employee issues such as matters related to payroll, benefits, grievance, etc.
- Develops conclusions from data analyses and applies results.
- Develops procedures using best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues.
- Knowledge of or exposure to HR concepts and employment/labor laws and regulations (i.e. FLSA, Title VII, FMLA)
- Position calls for attention to detail, accuracy, excellent interpersonal skills, strong written and communication skills, ability to demonstrate judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information, strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills, and continual customer focus are essential, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, experience with HR Information Systems and applicant tracking systems, ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Position requires approximately 30-40% travel.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field is required.
- MS or MBA preferred.
- 10+ years HR experience
- Must have demonstrated skills in leadership and influence.
