Job description
The Human Resources Assistant excels in administrative tasks to support the HR functions of all Timberline companies. This person is the point of contact for employee onboarding, maintaining personnel files, routine compliance, and other general administrative HR functions to support and enhance business unit goals and employees.
Duties & responsibilities:
- Assist in employee orientation/onboarding (new hire paperwork, including H2B visa program onboarding/termination, background checks, and other tasks associated with onboarding)
- Initiate and track employee benefit enrollments
- Perform post-employment termination tasks such as COBRA
- Assist with training coordination and maintain certification and licensure files
- Maintain employee records
- Post jobs internally and externally
- Perform prescreens of some company open positions
- Initiate performance reviews and peer reviews
- Assist in administrative and paperwork functions of workers compensation, OSHA log, and Department of Transportation
- Provide backup for front desk receptionist as needed
- Support the HR Manager in the daily operational employee needs of the company
- Other functions as assigned
education & requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field/emphasis, a junior or senior in college for HR or related field/emphasis, or a minimum of one year in an HR role.
- Must be highly adaptable to the kinds of change that comes along with working in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Friendly demeanor, the ability to receive constructive criticism, and work as a team with others.
- Excellent presentation, organization, and written skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Possess strong analytical skills.
- Must maintain confidentiality.
- Keep up-to-date with current and emerging trends.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Working knowledge of laws that impact that workforce; including I-9, H2B, DOT, EEOC, HIPPA, FCRA, FLSA, and other applicable laws.
Desired qualities to include:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Physical Demand & Work Environment:
- Office environment with occasional field exposure
- Occasionally lift/move up to 50lbs

Salary: $18.50 - $21 per hour
Hours: FT 40 hours per week
