Background
Tulsa Remote LLC is an initiative of the George Kaiser Family Foundation designed to enhance Tulsa’s talented and successful workforce by bringing diverse, bright, and driven new individuals to the city. Participants in the Tulsa Remote program are integrated into the community through various collaborations and networking opportunities with the ultimate goal of retaining them in the Tulsa area for the long term. The Tulsa Remote program and community have experienced a high level of success and the program is rapidly expanding.
Position Summary
Tulsa Remote’s Housing Support Manager will help finalists with Tulsa Remote gather the resources and support needed to relocate to Tulsa smoothly during this major life transition. This role will also help the organization live out its value of equity by (1) ensuring Realtors, lenders, and partners know the role housing plays in creating an equitable city, (2) managing partnerships with housing providers to ensure they understand, and meet/exceed Tulsa Remote’s expectations regarding the quality of their offerings and (3) keeping partners informed of feedback and holding partners accountable in a respectful way, which will lead to as many positive housing relationships as possible for our members. Given the number of members being brought into town through Tulsa Remote, this position will also be the primary point person for our housing providers across the city.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Finalist support
- Manage all communication in the housing@tulsaremote.com inbox and the Tulsa Remote Slack workspace related to housing in the onboarding process.
- Connect with incoming members to support with their housing needs, highlighting existing resources
- Support housing resources on the member portal, ensuring they are relevant and kept up to date
- Curate material to include in the Tulsa Remote participant orientation/welcome packet with housing incentives, options, and lessee legal rights
- Refine appropriate resources for Tulsa Remote participants surrounding homeownership. Assist to ensure material is provided in easy-to-consume formats
Equitable Housing Program (EHP)
- Create and facilitate training with industry experts, invite possible partners to participate, track their training progress, set up live training sessions, and onboard partners to EHP program
- Maintain profiles and scoring system for existing partners
- Serve as the first point of contact for all finalists interested in being connected with an EHP partner (Realtor/Lender)
- Onboard, Offboard and Maintain profiles/scoring system for Realtors/Lenders into the EHP program (collecting completed bios/headshots; adding to the master list for equitable distribution)
- Review homework responses from onboarding realtors/lenders
- Create a system to equitably distribute housing referrals to various partners in EHP
- Gather data from finalists to capture their experience with Realtor/Lenders after being paired
- Leverage the data found to represent experience Realtor/Lender ratings, in a spirit of accountability
Tulsa Remote housing portal
- Co-develop and implement strategy surrounding the future look, feel, and focus of the housing portal and/or other resources needed for finalists to be successful in their transition to Tulsa (i.e., including houses for purchase, showcasing real-time availability, rating system of apartments/lessors)
- Communicate clear expectations for new partners
- Onboard new housing partners, updating websites, adding photos and lists of incentives, including visits to property sites, walkthroughs, and approvals of new properties
- Create, implement, and oversee corrective plans with partners that are problematic
- Conduct routine check-ins with partners we are promoting to ensure accountability, share market trends, best practices, and housing survey results
Resources and Relationships
- Create and maintain relationships with expanded list of Tulsa landlords (multi- and single-family) to remain knowledgeable about leasing options in Tulsa.
- Negotiate incentives for Tulsa Remote participants with Tulsa lessors, and ensure compliance by said lessors. Maintain resource that communicates these incentives to membership
- Build resources as they pertain to housing-related concerns, i.e. utilities, furniture, internet providers, and handypeople.
