THIS POSITION
The SCA is currently recruiting a Housekeeper to join our Hospitality Team. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about the SCA’s mission and programs and excited to be part of the SCA staff. The housekeeper plays a key customer service role, working on her/his own to create a welcoming, clean environment for guests, performers, volunteers, and staff members. The housekeeper is a crucial member of our Hospitality Team (and the entire SCA staff) and is highly motivated, has a strong eye for detail, and terrific organizational skills.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING The Housekeepers’ focus is to create a welcoming environment for our guests, performers, instructors, volunteers, and staff. This happens via:
- Continuously considering how to improve the guest hospitality experience at the SCA.
- Cleaning Bathrooms, public spaces (lobby, classrooms), dressing rooms, kitchen, etc., on a seasonal schedule (weekly or 2x weekly as needed).
- Assisting with laundry.
- Organizing kitchen recyclables, returnables, and garbage.
- Completing a weekly inventory of cleaning supplies.
- Replenishing items such as soaps, paper products, etc.
WHAT SKILLS YOU’LL NEED TO SHINE IN THIS JOB

- Prior housekeeping or professional cleaning experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong eye for detail and aesthetic feel/vibe
- Excellent verbal communication skills and a customer-facing demeanor.
- Strong self-motivation and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
- Must be able to lift materials of up to 30 pounds; must be able to climb stairs.
- Comfortable on your feet for multiple hours.
- Must be 18 or older to apply.
REPORTS TO: Hospitality Team Manager COMMITMENT: This is a part time position. Fall & Winter: 5-10 hours/week. Spring/Summer: 10-15 hours/week. Some weekend work; possible after-hours work. Employee works with the Hospitality Team Manager to create her/his own schedule.
COMPENSATION: $17+ an hour
