Lake Regional Health System is looking for an energetic, dedicated Housekeeper to join our Environmental Services team. With our state-of-the-art hospital and network of clinics, therapy sites, and pharmacies, Lake Regional offers a wide range of employment opportunities in our community.

The housekeeper performs miscellaneous custodial duties in the care and cleaning of various hospital, patient, public, and ancillary areas. Housekeeping equipment, materials, methods, and procedures are used in maintaining cleanliness and disinfection, and follow standard precautions for body fluid. This position requires alternating weekend and holiday rotation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Empty trash, dust mopping/wet mopping of floors.
• Vacuuming floors, bulk trash removal including removal of hazardous waste.
• Clean and disinfect sinks, showers, commodes, urinals, furniture fixtures, etc.
• May be assigned to work in areas requiring special use of disinfectants, cleaning techniques, and sanitation procedures (such as hospital isolation rooms, operating rooms, recovery rooms, and laboratories).
• Cleaning and moving operating/delivery tables. Washing and making beds.
• Spot washing/dusting furniture, walls, vents, lights, and blinds. Operating rotary floor machines or hot water extraction units. Transport of soiled linens including restocking in various locations.
• Relocate furniture items including meeting set-ups. Washing windows, hanging drapes/curtains (can be up to 8 ft high) ladder required.
• May perform duties such as securing areas, operating lights, reporting damage, theft, and repairs.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• A person working in this classification will need to be able to lift and carry set-down objects of moderate weight on a daily basis.
• Needs to be able to bend and grasp broom and mop handles.
• Workaround cleaning chemicals and dust.
• Climb stairs, step stools, and ladders on a daily basis.
• Physical strength, coordination, and stamina sufficient to perform assigned duties.
• Annual influenza vaccine and COVID vaccine are required.
