Overview of Position

This is a critical role to ensure that schools can open safely and that all health and safety protocols are followed with regard to COVID-19.

Responsible providing overall support for COVID-19 operations in the school setting. Will greet caregivers and students with a warm and friendly tone upon arrival to the school. Document status of attestation; assist students and parents to obtain accurate health screening information. Must be flexible and willing to work at assigned school location where needed.

Hours to be determined by school leader.

Essential Functions

20%

  • Greet students/caregivers who did not complete the attestation remotely and assist with kiosk attestation process or if caregivers not present, follow up by phone to determine student attestation status.

  • Escort students to and supervise the protective healthcare room as needed; if students are present, call families to coordinate pick up.

  • Serve as the designee for the COVID Site Supervisor when building leaders are not present.

  • Cover breaks and lunches for educators, when possible.

  • Supervise students as needed (playground, dismissal, transitions).

  • Check periodically to ensure health and safety supplies such as wipes, hand sanitizers, etc. and work with COVID site supervisor to replenish.

  • Assist office staff with printing and distribution of electronic attestation rosters to educators prior to student arrival.

  • Coordinate with educators a plan for sending students who arrive on campus and either did not complete or did not pass the daily attestation to the Health & Safety Support staff person.

  • Keep records manually or electronically tracking attestations, supplies, as needed.

  • Other duties that may arise related to in-person learning to support staff and administrators.

Typical Qualifications

EDUCATION:
High School Diploma

PREFERRED:
Two years of college education

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated experience working with the public

PREFERRED:
Two years of experience working with the public; and specific experience working with school-aged children

CERTIFICATION & LICENSES:
CPR/First Aid Certificate preferred.

CLEARANCES:
Fingerprint and background clearance.
