Job description

Responsible for maintaining the general condition of the property with regards to all aspects of basic electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical and painting work. Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis. Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms. Complete other special projects assigned periodically by the Chief Engineer.

• Minimum of two years of experience preferably in a hotel;
• Franchised hotel experience a plus.
• Knowledge of all mechanical equipment critical to the operation of the building; proper chemical handling and disposal.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and comply with deadlines for work assignments.
• Ability to interact positively with hotel personnel and provide prompt solutions to problems.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

The Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for making sure that the machines, equipment & rooms used by the hotel are always in perfect working conditions. Depending on the type of hotel and the varying degrees of use with certain equipment, the job description of the preventive maintenance technician may vary. However, irrespective of the hotels fluctuation of occupancy and/or operation, the general role of this technician is to service and repair facilities to prevent any major break down that might disrupt smooth operation of the hotels operations.

It is the duty of the preventive maintenance technician to perform routine maintenance of facilities to prevent mechanical failure.

The role of the Preventive Maintenance Technician in the hotel involves carrying out various duties, tasks, and responsibilities to ensure machines and equipment don’t develop faults when in operation or fall into disrepair.

• May be required to assist in the movement of materials and labor for projects.
• Complete daily checklists for PM tasks
