The Holiday Inn Hartford Downtown Area is currently seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The maintenance engineer performs preventative and repair maintenance work to ensure the hotel is maintained according to established quality standards. The position will perform a variety of duties as directed by the Chief Engineer. These duties include but are not limited to;

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Housekeeping Dept. to perform General Clean / Preventive
• Responds to maintenance calls in the hotel from guests and other departments
• Inspects guestrooms, public spaces and back-of-the-house for areas to repair, touch up or replace
• Perform daily mechanical and safety inspections and routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Perform daily scheduled and non-scheduled work requests and maintenance projects.
• Respond to all emergency and alarm situations.
• Responsible for the operation of various hand and power tools in a Safe manner.
• Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and good working conditions in all work areas.
• Maintain positive public relations and a pleasant attitude with all guests and associates
• Perform and maintain work to local, state and federal codes
• perform other duties as requested by management

Qualifications:

• Detail oriented, strong organizational skills
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous Hotel experience preferred
• Good interpersonal skills
• Work well under pressure
• Maintain a neat appearance
• Must be a positive "team player"
• Must be able to lift 70 lbs.
• Position requires stooping and bending, climbing ladders and stairs
• Requires visual observation abilities
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
