*CROWLEY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT RE. 1-J* *JOB DESCRIPTION* Job Title: *Head Track Coach* Date Revised: January 5, 2016 Work Year: For duration of approved athletic season Reports To: Athletic Director and indirectly to Principal Supervises: Assistant track coaches *SUMMARY:* To develop and maintain an efficient and competitive track program *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* *Job Tasks Descriptions* * Coordinates the organization of a district track program * Delegates staff assignments to assistant coaches * Develops and organizes practice program * Acts as a liaison person in relating the district track program to the staff, administration, general public, and local news media. * Develops and administers a continuous off-season conditioning and recruitment program. * Evaluates assistant coaches and playing personnel and aids participants in securing scholarship assistance. * Maintains professional growth through attendance of coaching clinics, conferences, and post graduate study. * Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the principal, Superintendent and/or the board may assign. *EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:* * Bachelor’s degree * Two years’ experience as a track coach (preferred) or experience as a coach or as a participant in a college or high school track program * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable *LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS or CERTIFICATIONS:* * Secondary teaching certificate (desired, but not required) * Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred, but not required *MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT OPERATING KNOWLEDGE:* * . Maintains and inventories all equipment *REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS & DIRECTION/GUIDANCE:* * Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the board’s policy on evaluation of certified personnel *BUDGET AND/OR RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY:* * Assists the athletic director in scheduling, development of budget, administration of the track budget, and making travel arrangements. _This description is not intended, and should not be construed, to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, efforts, or working conditions associated with this job.
