Tutor Doctor Hawaii – the leading company in educational growth for all students – is hiring High School after School Tutors (9th– 12th grade)! Our tutors use their insight and creativity to adapt to each student's needs and learning style. This is a DOE contracted position, and tutors will be working with students a select school. We are looking for tutors who can build relationships with students and the schools they support by helping students feel comfortable and cared for during sessions and keeping open communication for schools and organizations.

Position and Duties

We are currently hiring 9th – 12th Grade Tutors who can capably teach all general subjects related to 9th - 12th grade and SAT prep

As a Tutor, you can be relied upon to:

• Arrive timely with reliable attendance
• Attend scheduled training sessions
• Effectively manage small groups of students in a classroom environment
• Come to each session prepared to cover scheduled material

Qualifications

• Proficiency in providing academic support and reviewing all content related to specific 9th– 12th grade general subjects: English, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, US History, Psychology, Economics and World History, Chemistry, Environments and Integrated Science, and Participation in Democracy
• Provide tutoring and academic support with current homework, schoolwork, SAT and additional supplemental work.
• Graduated from or is currently enrolled in post-secondary education (graduates and undergraduates who have completed at least 2 years)
• Previous teaching/tutoring/mentoring/coaching experience would be great, especially exposure to different learning styles (formal or informal)
• Have reliable transportation

Tutor pay rate: $19/hour + Bonus Program
