Heavy Equipment Operator

Rutherford Diversified Industries, Inc. (RDI) is a General Engineering Contractor specializing in underground utilities, substrate preparation, fiber optic telecommunications and electrical construction, repair, and demolition. RDI is currently seeking professional and skilled workers to fill several full-time positions for an upcoming project in the Shreveport, LA area. The project is scheduled to begin work in January of 2023. In person interviews will be conducted mid-December. Length of employment is project based.

Candidates are required to:

Have a valid driver license and obtain a current 5-year driving record

Have reliable transportation to and from the work site

Pass a pre-employment drug screen

Pass a government/military background check

Speak and read English

Work in multiple types of weather conditions

Withstand physical demand, including but not limited to kneeling, crawling, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, working in confined areas, etc.

Work overtime as needed (not guaranteed)

Operator Qualifications

Five years or more of operating experience on multiple types of equipment

Working knowledge of grades, slopes, staking and reading of basic plans

Ability to follow directions and work on your own

Operator Duties and Responsibilities

Follow all safety and environmental regulations

Operation, inspection, and maintenance of heavy equipment, i.e., backhoe, excavator, loader, dozer, skid steer, roller, and compactor, etc.

Prep construction site areas

Load/unload materials

Dirt work, including excavation, backfilling, and compacting

Moving materials or temporary structures

Salary: $18.36* - per hour minimum base rate plus fringe benefit, on-site per DBA wage determination

*Higher wage rate may be determined by experience.
