Overview:
The Health Record Ambassador is the front office staff that responds to customers/clients in a friendly, effective, and timely manner, provides access to patient medical record information as authorized, processes requests for medical information, copies/prints/transmits copies of patient medical records, utilizes the electronic database to track all release of information activity, faxes records for continuing patient care, assists “walk-in” customers, handles telephone calls, protects patient confidentiality and privacy, identifies and reports potential breaches of confidentiality, identifies and reports potential risk or compliance issues relative to confidentiality, and requests and retrieves medical records as needed.
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED
5 years Health Information, Medical Records, or a related area
HIPPA confidentiality standards, work in an office setting, computer literate, scanning documents, knowledge of release of information regulations, both Federal and State.
