Care Free Medical:

Care Free Medical is a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) that provides quality and compassionate medical, dental, and optometry services to people with limited access to the health care system, specifically focused on Ingham County. They see nearly 13,000 office visits in their medical clinic each year, and patients include folks on Medicaid and Medicare, along with uninsured and under-insured people. Care Free Medical’s comprehensive services result in true preventative care, reducing the overall cost and improving quality of life for our patients.

AmeriCorps VISTA member will create systems and conduct outreach to advocate for and promote health access for underfunded communities in Lansing. The VISTA member will develop and implement social media and community outreach strategies to spread awareness of programs; research sustainable funding sources for programming; and create new, mutually beneficial community partnerships.

Duties:

• Develop and implement social media and community outreach strategies to spread awareness of programs.
• Create template for blog posts, donor newsletter, and client news bulletin to share programmatic updates with community and stakeholders
• Assist in the writing and data collection for grant application; if grant is awarded, create program evaluation process and use data to write necessary grant reports
• Compile all potential grants in one list with summary of each grant, timeline, amount, and information needed, and any other relevant information found.
• Plan, organize and implement fundraising activities to support programming; Develop promotional materials, create advertisements and outreach materials for the event; Develop a full program for the activity/event
