The County of Riverside's Department of Public Health is seeking a Health Education Assistant II for their Riverside location. The incumbent in this position will be working with the Riverside County Tobacco Control Program which aims to improve health and wellbeing.

The Health Education Assistant II will be tasked with motivating adults, young adults and agency representatives to encourage local decision makers to adopt tobacco prevention policies. The selected candidate will also assist in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition and physical activity policies and system and environmental changes with community partners. Additionally, the incumbent will provide direct and indirect education to K-12 students, early care education students, and their parents.

The most competitive candidate will have a bachelor's or master's degree in public health, health education, dietetics/nutrition, public policy, kinesiology, health care or a closely related field.

Experience in community engagement efforts to include engaging and motivating community residents and agency representatives as well as tobacco policy and education is highly desirable. Bilingual is preferred.
