The School of Public Administration, University of Nebraska Omaha, seeks applicants for an open rank tenure-track faculty position as the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Chair of Health Administration and Policy with an emphasis on Health Policy to begin August 14, 2023. Applications from qualified individuals for hire at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor will be considered including the possibility of tenure on hire for qualified candidates. A PhD in Public Administration, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Social Policy, Health Policy, or a related field is required by the date of employment. The review of applications will begin October 24, 2022.
We welcome applications from candidates engaged in high-quality health policy research who will makesignificant contributions to our doctoral and masters programs.Candidates conducting research focused on equity, social welfare, advocacy, social determinants of health, underrepresented and marginalized communities, and related topics in the areas of health policy and administration are especially sought. Preference will be given to candidates who haveexperience or an interest in teaching public policy courses and who can contribute to our new Health and Social Policy concentration in the MPA program.
The course teaching load for this position is 2:2. Candidates should be willing to teach in both face-to-face and online settings. Candidates at the associate or full professor level should have a track record of excellence in research and teaching, and candidates at the assistant professor level must demonstrate the potential to do so. All candidates must demonstrate a commitment to community engagement related to these areas.

The School of Public Administration boasts a supportive and collaborative academic culture. It is home to one of the longest-accredited MPA programs in the country, enrolling approximately 275 graduate students each year, offering the program both online and on campus. The MPA program is ranked among the top 10 percent of all such programs in the 2023 edition of America’s Best Graduate Schools, and is ranked #11 in Nonprofit Management, #7 in Local Government Management, #5 in Public Budgeting & Finance, and #19 in Public Management and Leadership.
The School is also home to one of the few Ph.D. programs in Public Administration in the Great Plains region. The University is a Carnegie Doctoral Research University.
