As a newly established business division of AXA XL Americas, our Middle Markets business focuses on the expansion of AXA XL’s current offerings to Middle Market clients in the US Commercial P&C market. You will own the P&L and set strategy and direction for the team in support of the Region’s and broader organization’s goals. The Head of Private Equity for Middle Market builds and manages a team of technical UW professionals supporting the development and execution of PE product line initiatives and market strategy

This role reports to the Head of Underwriting, US Middle Market.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

• Closely collaborate with the leadership team to develop products and establish a Private Equity Middle Market presence in the industry
• Develop Pricing Models for the products, together with our Pricing Actuaries
• Provide input on the marketing strategy and partnership opportunities
• Creating and executing the annual business plan and strategy for PE, ensuring consistency with agreed risk appetites. Responsible for underwriting profit and loss within PE, including revenue management on a gross and net level, and expense management.
• Ensuring that appropriate underwriting governance is maintained through policies, procedures, reviews, audits, and training.
• Promoting the professional growth of a diverse and engaged underwriting community, while planning effectively to maintain the organization’s business continuity goals.
• Manage underwriting teams to ensure operational efficiency around production and hit ratio reporting, retention ratios, production planning and tactical actions expected related to the established plans
• Embody the AXA XL culture and act as a role model for all colleagues, irrespective of organizational alignment

• Outstanding knowledge of the Americas insurance industry, combined with in-depth technical knowledge of PE insurance product offerings.

The pay range for this position is ($147,000-$273,000). Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
