Job description
As the Head of Corporate Communications, you’ll lead the strategy, planning, and execution of the external and internal communications function with a focus on increasing brand exposure through media, stakeholder engagement, industry influencers, and policy makers. This role requires a strong focus on strategies to increase visibility and influence, and to support the achievement of operational goals. As the leader for this group, you will oversee the business integrated strategy for corporate communications and guide the development and implementation of corporate positioning and crisis management.
Reports: This position will report to the CEO.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and implement strategic communication initiatives that include print, digital and social media channels and niche communications to increase the visibility and understanding of the institution’s vision and purpose.
- Proactively identify opportunities for engagement and influence by being current with developments that relate to all key stakeholders and partners.
- Successfully create and execute crisis communications and risk mitigation plans
- Lead the development of our corporate and financial narratives to build interest and confidence in our business and growth strategy
- Work with executives and department staff to determine the areas where the institution can impact the regional and international dialogue on development issues through the development and publication of materials
- Draft expert-level communications on behalf of the leadership team, as well as writing, editing, and proofreading materials ensuring quality and consistency.
- Prioritize multiple projects simultaneously and complete them on time.
- Engage investors and analysts to articulate the strategy of and status of Skybound’s progress
- Travel as necessary to support the development/execution of product launches, communications programs, and the company’s participation in industry events
- Working with key executives and business unit owners to help bring consistent, compelling messaging to press, analysts and events/conferences
- Support day-to-day communications program execution.
- At least 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations and/or related agency work
- Strong understanding of the technology media landscape and strong global media, analyst and influencer relationships
- Excellent oral and written communications skills with a knack for simplifying complex topics and technologies to their essence
- Able to develop and execute programs that cut through industry noise to measurably achieve communications objectives and key results
- Ability to communicate clearly and credibly across multiple audiences, including customers, employees, media, analysts and more
- Self-driven/entrepreneurial and resourceful with a roll-up-your sleeves attitude towards getting things done in a small company environment
- Strong negotiation skills
- Creative, out-of-the-box thinker
Job Type: Exempt, Full-time
Salary Range: $160,000-$190,000/year
- Actual base salary is dependent on several factors including but not limited to; market dynamics, location and region, experience, specialized skills/training (education), level of responsibility, budgetary considerations, tenure at the company (for current employees), etc
- The salary range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees
- Compensation decisions are dependent on circumstances of each role
