The Job:
Do you love wind and waves? Does ensuring safety make you smile? Join the Boulder Reservoir Water Safety Team for flank season lake patrol. Whether you’re monitoring watercraft or educating boaters, you’ll be the front-line keeping our guests safe and happy. The hiring range for this position starts at $16.65 - $20.35/hour depending on qualifications and experience.
What You Will Be Doing :
-
You will serve as the watchful eye that ensures everyone is using the lake safely.
-
You understand what it means to be a leader, and you are ready for the responsibility of education and enforcement on the lake.
-
You handle complaints and criticism with grace and charm, and you know when to communicate with the reservoir management about problems and concerns.

You have the common sense and problem-solving skills to help our reservoir leadership manage boaters and overall facility operations.

You are an amazing Lifeguard! You not only have all your certifications and experience on the stand, but you possibly even have some management or leadership experience.

You can react quickly and calmly in stressful and emergency situations.

You enjoy an outdoor environment with variable weather conditions.

What You Will Need :

You must be at least 1 8 years old with CURRENT American Red Cross certifications (or equivalent) in the following: -
Lifeguarding
-
First Aid
-
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
-
Administering Emergency Oxygen
-
Waterfront Lifeguarding (preferred)
-
You must have at least 3 years of previous lifeguard experience (waterfront preferred).

You are available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, opening early mornings before sunrise and closing after dusk.
What You Will Learn:
-
You will be certified in American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding. -
You will participate in a Colorado Boating Safety Course.

You will learn how to operate advanced water safety equipment including many different types of boats and jet skis and be a leader in emergency response.
How You Can Grow:

You will have opportunities to participate in advanced Aquatics certifications, such as Lifeguard Instructor, Lifeguard Management and many others. -
If you display outstanding leadership and customer service qualities, you may be appointed to lead within the reservoir management or serve as manager-on-duty.

You will have opportunities to cross-train in other reservoir departments, such as maintenance operations, boat inspector, or cashier.
