Summary:
The Human Resources HBCU Fellow will have a hands-on experience with recruitment, employee relations, training & development, diversity/equity/inclusion, employee on-boarding, and procedure administration. This position will provide support to the Human Resource Department throughout the fellowship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and schedule phone or in person interviews.
- Make hiring recommendations.
- Develop communications to employees and managers.
- Assist in managing the onboarding process.
- Help facilitate front office new hire orientations, including data entry of information in ADP.
- Assist in the formulation, training, and administration of the company wide performance management program.
- Recommend process improvement in the HR department.
- Assist in implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Provide other human resources and administrative services as needed.
- Assist with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives, and programming.
Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate or graduate HBCU student, internship experience a plus!
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information.
- Can make appropriate decisions, performs multiple tasks simultaneously, and process work with accuracy.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
