Summary:

The Human Resources HBCU Fellow will have a hands-on experience with recruitment, employee relations, training & development, diversity/equity/inclusion, employee on-boarding, and procedure administration. This position will provide support to the Human Resource Department throughout the fellowship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct and schedule phone or in person interviews.
• Make hiring recommendations.
• Develop communications to employees and managers.
• Assist in managing the onboarding process.
• Help facilitate front office new hire orientations, including data entry of information in ADP.
• Assist in the formulation, training, and administration of the company wide performance management program.
• Recommend process improvement in the HR department.
• Assist in implementing HR policies and procedures.
• Provide other human resources and administrative services as needed.
• Assist with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion initiatives, and programming.

Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate or graduate HBCU student, internship experience a plus!
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Be highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidential information.
• Can make appropriate decisions, performs multiple tasks simultaneously, and process work with accuracy.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access.
