About the Role:

General Dynamics Land Systems is looking to hire a highly-motivated individual to support a team of Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) System Design Expert Engineers.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this role:

This position will be responsible for the development, integration, and maintenance of HIL test systems. This will involve:

• Simulation of synthetic driving environments (e.g., terrain, weather, lighting, position, obstacles, etc.)
• Real-time physics-based plant simulation
• Signal conditioning and fault injection
• DAQ for CAN, Ethernet, 1553, RS-422, SSI, discrete analog, discrete digital, and other signal types
• DIGITAL CIRCUIT DESIGN, ANALOG CIRCUIT DESIGN, SERIAL INTERFACE DESIGN, FPGA DESIGN
• MICRO-CONTROLLERS, SIGNAL ANAYSIS
• Cable/Harness Design, Electrical Drawings
• ETHERNET NETWORKS, CAN BUS NETWORKS, SERIAL NETWORKS, TIME-SENSITIVE NETWORKING

The applicant will learn to use the following tools:

• SPICE, MATLAB/SIMULINK
• NI LABVIEW, NI VERISTAND, XILINX VIVADO
• VISIO, MENTOR, OTHER
• WIRESHARK
• VECTOR CANOE, LABVIEW
• PROTOCOL MONITORS & CONVERTORS - MOXA
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Sought:

• Bachelor Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Candidates with a GPA of 3.5 or higher desired
• 1-3 years’ co-op/internship experience sought and/or less than years professional work experience.
• Working knowledge of HIL, signal conditioning, simulation, and data acquisition a must.

Additional Information / Desired Experience

• This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
• Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills is required Works well in team and individually.
• Must be able to work occasional evening and/or weekend overtime as required
