The Role:

The Harbor Patrol Night Audit is responsible for assigning and facilitating the use of moorings within the Two Harbors tideland areas and primary shift is between 10:00pm & 7:00am

Responsibilities:

The Harbor Patrolman is responsible for patrolling the mooring fields and adjoining waterfront area by boat to ensure safety of guests and property.

Monitoring radios and responding to emergency situations, including but not limited to towing, fire, medical, lifesaving, and disabled vessel calls in and adjacent the harbor area.

Collects mooring fees from vessels promptly after providing mooring assistance

Conducts routine inspections of company vessels, moorings, and dock lines.

Identifies and remove navigational hazards and unattended docked boats.

Maintains the patrol boats and shore boats keeping them fueled and clean.

Safely operates and navigates patrol boats in harbor and coastal waterways and locates and assists visitors and mooring leaseholders with assignments, reservations and mooring.

Tactfully communicates information, including harbor policies, rules and regulations as well as events, activities, hours of operation and facilities available on shore. Prepares reports to document unusual events or shift activity.

In addition, the Night Audit is responsible for ensuring the 7am shift has all required items for the start of their shift.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Boat handling experience
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Live aboard preferred
• Ability to navigate with chart and compass

Education and/or Experience:

• Valid USCG MMC with OUPV endorsement
• Familiar with USCG navigation rules
• Must be computer proficient utilizing a program specific called Net Moorings (reservation system) and be able to operate an iPad
• High School/GED diploma

Language Skills:

• 
  Ability to effectively communicate via VHF radio, with customers, and the general public.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• 
  Visual acuity and ability to hear to clearly communicate to managers, coworkers and guests
• Must be able to stand to operate vessels.
• Assist guests with baggage – be able to lift up to 30+ lbs. on occasion
• Required to stand for extended periods of time
• Able to withstand varying open ocean conditions
• Drug Screen and background check
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms
• Must have good hand dexterity, ability to grasp controls, throw a line and secure boat to moorings
