Wellness Staff, Hamilton Y

Part-time

Available shifts: weekends and weekdays 5pm-10pm

JOB DETAILS:

The Hamilton Y is seeking wellness floor staff to perform fitness evaluations, ActivTrax and wellness orientations, spotting, and cleaning of the wellness center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Provides instruction on the use of ActivTrax and wellness floor equipment.
• Provides fitness evaluations.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Provides a clean and well-maintained wellness center, including knowledge of equipment preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Provides interviews, tours, and guidance to prospective new members.
• Promotes programs within the wellness center such as wellness coaching and personal training.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
• Other duties as assigned
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred.
• At least one year of wellness coaching experience preferred.
• Certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 required within 30 days of hire.
• Accredited certification within 6 months of hire.
• New Staff Orientation required upon hire.
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position, including demonstrating exercises, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting.
