Position: Group Leader I - Production and Shipping
Location: Big Sandy Plant – Catlettsburg, KY

Hours of work: Full-time position with hours generally Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Travel: up to 5% (Visit Warehouses that are leased or contract with the Company)


The Group Leader I – Production and Shipping will coordinate all shipping and receiving activities, local logistics for plant and outside warehouses, assist with inventory control, coordinate production and packaging to meet customer orders. Serves as the backup for Production and Warehouse Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Process all required order transactions in SAP, monitor unconfirmed orders and update unconfirmed order notes according to most recent plan, check material availability in SAP and advise Customer Service/ Logistic group of any issues that will delay shipment of sales orders.
  • Following all the procedures, rules, and requirements for EH&S.
  • Ensure all material movements are accurately recorded in SAP. Assist with physical inventory. Actively monitor blocked stock looking for blends to maximize inventory and reduce working capital.
  • Monitor and process customer orders in SAP. Coordinate all customer shipments and inter-company transfers. Directs the local team of drivers and outside warehouses on inventory transfers. Actively schedule and arranging freight carriers. Process all required transactions in SAP, check material availability in SAP, monitor orders and update the unconfirmed notes, accordingly, advise CSE/Logistics of any issues that will delay shipment of sales orders. Coordinates production scheduling and packaging. Communicates with operations ensuring proper material is produced and in the proper package to fill all orders on the system in a timely manner. Provide excellent Customer service. Serve as the back-up to the Warehouse and Production Manager.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is preferred (Business Administration, Logistics or Supply Chain, or equivalent work experience).
  • 2-3 years: Logistics and shipping in a manufacturing environment experience is required.
  • Experience organizing and processing incoming and outgoing shipment.
  • Inventory Management - participated in multiple physical inventories.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting and problem resolution/solving skills.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office including Outlook.
