GENERAL SUMMARY

The Groundskeeper/Maintenance Assistant assists the Maintenance Director in maintaining all aspects of the physical plant and grounds and aid members and staff with regard to all program areas and equipment. In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc. is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Remove and properly dispose of all materials and equipment as scheduled.
• Assist in the regular preventive maintenance on equipment as required.
• Maintain the appearance of the grounds including cutting grass and other landscaping work as needed.
• Assist in the repair equipment and facilities as needed.
• Properly store, use and dispose of all substances and materials as directed.
• Properly use equipment and materials according to YMCA and OSHA/MSDS standards and policies.
• Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service.
• Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA.
• Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers, and program participants.

• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• CPR and First Aid required within 30 days of employment
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift

• Savannah, GA 31405: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Maintenance: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Preferred)
