JOB TITLE: GROCERY STOCKER

SUMMARY: Performs duties in the Stock Control Department as directed by the Head Stock Clerk.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Moves merchandise as directed from store to room to selling area.
• Stocks shelves, displays, and other areas as directed.
• Unloads trucks and stores merchandise in back room.
• Cleans shelves, bins, tables, and displays.
• Stamps, marks, or tags prices on merchandise.
• Sets up displays and stocks shelves.
• Ensures product freshness at all times.
• Builds displays.
• Makes price changes as directed.
• Sweeps and mops floor as needed.
• Other duties may be assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: No prior experience or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
