We are currently seeking a Grants Specialist to work onsite with the National Institutes of Health in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide fiscal and administrative review of grant applications
  • Review and apply grants management policies and procedures for grant programs
  • Evaluate the reasonableness, adequacy and allocability of costs specified in grant and cooperative agreement financial documents
  • Provide appropriate file documentation for assigned grant applications, including annotated applications, annotated correspondence with the grantee, program officer or other related offices to resolve any compliance requirements for a grant e.g., just-in-time materials, FA rate agreements, human subject or vertebrate animal concerns
  • Complete grants management checklist in the GM IMPAC System, prepare budgets using standard NIH GM Workbook budget templates, and draft NOA ready for release with appropriate dates, terms and conditions of the grant
  • Conduct correspondence with awardee institutions concerning unusual or unresolved issues to obtain additional information for adequate documentation or to suggest modifications or changes in budgets in accordance with policies, regulations and procedures
  • Maintain all official grant files
  • Respond to data call requests; compile reports of information from NIH grant databases and related financial systems, including monthly and quarterly obligation reports, monthly closeout reports, and ad hoc audit requests from the Office of the Inspector General, NIH Office of Extramural Research or other NIH central offices
Qualifications:
Required Skills
  • Masters degree in Business Administration, Economics, or similar and 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experienced with the following: grant receipt and funding tracking, drafting summary statements, price/cost analysis; grants policy and regulations; grants funding analysis
  • Experienced using MS Office, grants systems
