Tamarack Country Club is seeking an assistant superintendent in training to join our team, which maintains one of the best golf courses in Connecticut. Upcoming Projects:

Master plan headed by architect Brian Schneider includes:

• Bunker renovation work (Better Billy) - fairway & green-side.

• Re-sod all green surrounds.

• Fairway & green expansions and addition forward tees.

Key responsibilities:

• Participating in course setup, which includes tee setup, changing of cups and monitoring soil moistures, etc.
• Utilize moisture meters for water management.
• Responsible for app pesticide applications in coordination with other assistants, including training on GPS-driven spray rigs. Will also learn procedures for spray hawking greens if needed.
• Responsible for all fertilizer applications in coordination with other assistants. Any required training is provided.
• Maintenance of irrigation system.
• Will occasionally be assigned management responsbilities for project-related work by the Superintendent.
• Understanding systems used for record keeping of job assignments (Trasktracker), presticide application records (Playbook — Coverage) and pin sheet creation (ezLocator-pin sheets).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two or four year degree in Turf Management or student presently enrolled in Turf Maintenance Program.
• Club will provide resources for applicant to obtain Connecticut Pesticide Applicators License.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary $65,000 - $75,000

Standard Work hours:

• November - February, 40 hour week, weekend responsibilities only for snow/road maintenance.

• March - October, weather dependent, averaging 50+ hours weekly. After normal work hours related to water management and or construction responsibilities.
