Position Summary:

The Analyst will report to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and will provide support to IHI's organization-wide budgeting and analysis efforts.

Position Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Prepare and manage the development of budgets for new business initiatives

  • Create new budget opportunities in Adaptive Insights
  • Move budgets in Adaptive Insights when a signed agreement is received
  • Work with New Business completing funder budget templates for submission of proposals (includes reviewing and finalizing budget templates)

Assist with Financial Analysis

  • Generate and analyze monthly Budget v. Actuals report
  • Communicate and meet with budget owners as needed to review budget v. actuals results
  • Research and respond to questions from budget owners and others at IHI
  • Provide general support to all levels of budget ownership
  • Maintain budgets and revisions in Adaptive Insights
  • Support preparation of monthly US and Global PowerPoints

Assist with the implementation of the annual budget and quarterly reforecast process

  • Assist the Senior Financial Analyst and Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in preparing the annual calendar for new fiscal year budget creation and three annual revisions
  • Provide ad hoc trainings and coaching on budget processes with any IHI staff as needed

Assist with financial reporting requirements to funders

  • Support the Senior Financial Analyst with keeping track of financial reports due to funders
  • Work with budget owners, project and program teams and the Senior Financial Analyst on completing financial reports for funders (quarterly, semi-annually, annually, or as needed)
  • Work with budget owners, project and program teams and the Senior Financial Analyst on completing budget modifications for funders as needed
  • Perform special projects as needed
  • Assist with breakeven analysis for IHI programs as needed

Position Qualifications:

Required

  • At least five years' work experience in similar finance position required
  • Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Experience using Adaptive Planning and Great Plains or similar software systems
