About The Job

The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Operations Specialist role is a technical position, whose core function is the integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and related geospatial technologies, with Brightly’s software suite. This person will act as a GIS SME who will work with other product and business experts to ensure continued GIS operational excellence, in addition to assisting with expansion of our GIS footprint in vertical markets.

The GIS Operations Specialist will be expected to provide GIS support to internal teams and clients in the areas of pre-sales, implementation, and post-launch. This role is also expected to develop and present content and training to internal staff as well as clients, in addition to providing tier 2 and 3 GIS product support.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Presale Support

  • Meet with account executives and prospective clients to address advanced GIS integration questions.
  • Assist proposal coordinators with GIS specific questions within requests for proposal.
  • Assist proposal coordinators with competitive research for requests for proposal.
  • Update demo GIS data based on the needs of solutions consultants.
  • Support Sales Team members at GIS conferences.

Implementation Support

  • Serve as tier 2 support by assisting Implementation and Consulting Teams to resolve GIS configuration issues via Salesforce cases.
  • Assist clients with identifying correct mapping functions for the roles and responsibilities within their organizations.
  • Provide implementation best practice recommendations based on industry and product knowledge.
  • Take ownership of client GIS issues when impeding implementation success.


Post-Launch Support

  • Serve as tier 3 support for GIS specific issues via Salesforce cases.
  • Review GIS (map) related code errors to ensure issues are specific to Brightly product configurations or client GIS integration.
  • Provide 1:1 product review for launched clients who may have new staff members.
  • Support client success team by providing feedback on current product functionality and limitations via Salesforce cases.
  • Collaborate with client and Brightly stakeholders to provide resolutions within committed timelines.

Content and Training

  • Educate cross departmental teams by developing and maintaining GIS LMS trainings.
  • Provide 1:1 Implementation and Support Teams coaching to assist with GIS integrations and troubleshooting on specific accounts.
  • Upskill support and implementation teams with quarterly group training sessions.
  • Provide consistent and thorough documentation to ensure internal stakeholders are informed.
  • Create and provide consultation on map related updates to help site documentation.
  • Create and deliver GIS related Brightly courses.

Operational Excellence

  • Continually measure, monitor, and drive improvement in program approaches by reviewing processes and creating replicable reports to access metrics faster.
  • Provide consultation to cross functional teams transforming legacy clients to our new platforms. This includes, but not limited to; level of effort analysis, explanation of parity with classic solutions, and risk analysis.
  • Work with the Partner Services Team to understand and anticipate our partner’s needs to ensure a smooth working relationship.
  • Consult and assist the marketing team on GIS related podcasts, webinars, and pendo messaging.

Product Management Support

  • Manage GIS data schemas, hosted service configurations, remote desktop space limits, and ArcGIS Server utilization.
  • Work with product managers to ensure alignment on data architecture, market needs, and current roadmap.
  • Provide recommendations on new feature requests or enhancements based on client feedback.
  • Continuously research the latest GIS trends, emerging technology, and market needs to advise on leveraging these things within Brightly.
Requirements:

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • GIS, geospatial data, and cartographic skills knowledge and experience using the ESRI software suite (i.e., ArcGIS Portal, Desktop, Enterprise, Online, Web Application Builder, etc.)
  • GIS Web integrations experience
  • Some GIS training experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to be flexible in responding to support requests from cross-functional teams
  • Strong client and team relationship skills
  • Proven ability to deliver superb client experiences
  • Initiative for self-development and an eagerness for learning new processes
  • High energy and enthusiasm
