Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst I
Position Description
The GIS Analyst I is responsible for processing geospatial data to support a team of technical professionals providing surveying, engineering, land planning and ecological services to clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Compile and process geographic data from a variety of sources including LiDAR, public domain data warehouses, field observations, remote sensing and existing geographical data.
- Produce detailed, high quality cartographic map products (digital and hardcopy) and accompanying reports in accordance with company standards and methodologies, technical guidelines, and client needs.
- Input, organize, and catalogue data from LiDAR and other systems.
- Perform regular quality assurance of GIS data and associated graphic components.
- Communicate efficiently with project team members to meet multi-user goals.
- Perform well independently and with others in order to understand and generate special purpose maps while maintaining and updating geospatial data.
- Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations.
- Assist the Information Technology (IT) department with general IT coordination tasks.
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field and/or equivalent combination of education & experience
- No experience necessary, but internship experience is preferred
- Experience with LiDAR, ESRI ArcGIS software, ESRI server and/or web-based technology knowledge
- Experience with Pipelogix, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, BS&A, and AutoCAD preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel to the corporate office as well as local clients and project sites
- Excellent concentration and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams including technical and non-technical personnel
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under tight deadlines as well as balance multiple projects by prioritizing effectively

Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Office setting with the ability to work remote up to 75% based on workload and management’s discretion
- Regularly required to sit
- Average 40 – 45 working hours a week or as needed

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
