UT Health San Antonio at the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine and the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery is recruiting a General Thoracic Surgeon. A candidate with expertise in open and endoscopic foregut and general thoracic surgery is desired.

The ideal candidate should be board certified or eligible in Thoracic Surgery and preferably, but not necessarily, will have some postgraduate experience. An expertise in performing MIS is required and robotic interest is strongly desired. Participation in our lung transplant program is an option to the interested candidate but would not be required. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic faculty member to relocate to a beautiful city. This new surgeon will be joining a practice whose anatomic lobectomy volume is one of the largest in our state with promise of significant growth. The senior surgeons in General Thoracic Surgery are excellent mentors and teachers with a track record of developing talent and assisting junior partners to acquire leadership skill and clinical mastery. This is a group of experienced surgeons and partners who are willing and able to support an equitable call schedule. It is supported by a number of nurse coordinators, residents and midlevel providers. A full time research MD works in the Division as well and supports both research and outcomes data collection and evaluation.
