General Production Supervisor

Corning, NY

Summary: Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the General Production Supervisor is responsible for the overall organization, production, and flow of product and/or materials, supplies and parts. Duties include managing and overseeing the day-to-day activities of Production area through-put, coordinating the activities of other workers supporting this role. Focus on expediting jobs throughout the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Duties

• Contributing member of safety and production teams in addition to enforcing safety policies and procedures on the shop floor.
• Ensure compliance to company quality standards and regulatory requirements associated with the production of materials, components and finished product.
• Prioritizes tasks including outbound orders, incoming distribution, and production.
• Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement in safety, cost reduction, production methods, employee morale, quality, and materials management processes to improve customer service and internal efficiencies.
• Support and actively participate in the associate’s training and development.
• Responsible for the interpretation of production measurement tools such as work order on time and past due job backlog, in addition to creating means to help improve order process flow.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of assigned staff, apply disciplinary actions when needed per company policies and procedures.
• Ability to use company tools such as ERP, bar coding, and ability to be certified in forklift use when needed. Key contributor of inventory control.
• Wears proper personal protective equipment to conform to the established company safety standards and guidelines and ensures all others are conforming as well.
• Other duties as assigned by manager including filling in for other supervisors.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, Associates Degree Preferred
• Manufacturing Supervision Experience Required
• Quality conscious
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to understand the technical aspect of production processes
• Ability to exercise sound judgment with strong attention to detail.
• Able to work as a team member.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
