SALARY RANGE: $70,000 to $90,000, based upon experience, % of profit bonuses, plus full benefits (health insurance, 401k, PTO, gym membership, etc).

THE HIRING COMPANY & POSITION:
Discovery is now accepting applications for one of our future amenities; The Kitchen Grill & Games! The Kitchen at Discovery will be a unique indoor/outdoor entertainment complex that features America's fastest growing sport, pickleball, as well as a great food and beverage setting. The Kitchen is one of multiple amenities built and planned for local residents at Aria and the greater Columbia community.

As part of our Management Team with The Kitchen, you will work with one of the best teams in Mid-Missouri, providing exceptional service to the greater Columbia Community, including our very own Discovery Residents. We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated person to oversee our future restaurant operations and grow the success of this amenity by building relationships within the Discovery Park and Columbia Community.

RESTAURANT GENERAL MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coach employees to be Sales Champions; build and train employees on upselling best practices to build on sales revenues.
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices; Develop and improve upon new hire and continuous training processes/plans, train new hires and focus on continuous development through mentor-ship.
  • Foster a teamwork environment through daily communication; you will foster a happy, healthy team environment in both FOH and BOH teams as well as between the two!
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction; You will touch tables regularly, gather feedback (and use it!), respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints, problem solve on issues and ultimately turn negative situations into positive ones!
  • Regularly review product quality and meet with vendors; You will constantly be looking for ways to improve the quality of service and products provided.
  • Organize and supervise shifts; you will use sales data and other metrics to efficiently forecast staffing needs and properly organize the schedule for staffing perfection.
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity; You never stop training your team and their employees and offer continuous and positive constructive criticism so that improvement is never stagnant.
  • Estimate current and future needs for goods, products and equipment; You will oversee the ordering process, help with inventory and ensure that the restaurant is stocked with everything it needs to be successful and profitable.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations; you will monitor safety and sanitation processes, train on improvements and ensure that the restaurant is both well over compliant and kept in excellent working condition.
  • Manage restaurant's positive image and guest traffic, suggesting ways to improve it; You will collect guest feedback and deploy strategies for continuous improvement, brainstorm special events and opportunities to increase traffic on slow days.
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste; You understand metrics and have a keen eye for identifying ways to operate more efficiently and cost effectively!
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events; Be present in the community and always looking for opportunities to drive traffic to our restaurant!
  • Recommend ways to reach a broader audience (e.g. discounts, social media ads, special events); Work with our Marketing team to strategize on ways to expand our reach to our targeted demographic.

RESTAURANT GENERAL MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:

  • REQUIRED; 5+ years experience working in a Management or Lead position at a fine dining or upscale casual restaurants.
  • REQUIRED; experience in both FOH and BOH
  • PREFERRED; 5+ Years management experience at a privately owned, fine dining or upscale casual restaurant
  • PREFERRED; BS degree in Business Administration; hospitality management or related field
  • Extensive food and beverage knowledge
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
  • Acute financial management skills
