General Manager Position
New Horizons of Carolinas, Inc., d/b/a Jackson Hewitt Tax Service
Job Profile:
General Manager wanted for New Horizons of Carolinas, Inc., d/b/a Jackson Hewitt Tax Service. Regular, full-time, salaried position. The General Manager will run and oversee all company day-to-day operations. They must know and have experience in completing personal individual income tax returns. They are expected to know tax laws put out by federal and state authorities and must stay up to date on all recent tax updates.
Job Description:
- Manages all staff at the Company’s locations, including Assistant Managers, Office Managers, Tax Preparers, and Client Support Associates/Receptionist.
- Oversees all aspect of the day-to-day operations, including all administrative, technical, financial, sales, supervision, profitability, appearance, and marketing aspects of the Company.
- Supervises all staffing, training, marketing, client service, sales, accounts payables, receivables, and expansion components of the Company.
- Recruits, selects, orients, trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines Company managers, Tax Preparers, and other staff.
- Plans, monitors, and appraises job results and develops employee incentives.
- Fosters a climate for offering information and opinions and provides educational opportunities for employees.
- Communicates the Company’s values, strategies, and objectives.
Education, Required Skills, and Other Requirements:
- Must have three (3) years of professional tax experience in completing personal individual income tax returns.
- Must have knowledge in various tax laws implemented by state and federal government.
- Must have a valid Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) from the IRS (or obtain such within the time specified by the Company, but in no event before the start of Tax Season).
- Must have five (5) years of management experience and/or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, car, and maintain at least the minimum limits of liability insurance required by the state where you primarily work.
- Must demonstrate a strong ability to communicate, orals and in writing, effectively.
- Must have the ability to utilize technology, including computers, tax preparation software, and telecommunication devices.
Salary is based on previous professional experience in Individual Income Tax Preparation, Education, and Managment experience. Yearly bonus opportunity.
