The General Manager is responsible for the leadership structure and drives the training, financial success, culture and overall environment of the property. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Manager in a hotel, be organized and detail-oriented, and has a personality to motivate, engage and grow a strong team environment that provides exceptional guest service.
Responsibilities:
- The passion and commitment, to achieve the highest standards and turn property into an award-winning hotel
- Provide the leadership and management necessary to deliver exceptional service to guests.
- Commitment to lead, direct, mentor all staff and develop them to reach the next level.
- Provide detailed guidance in all areas of operation, including revenue management, quality assurance, brand standards, expense control, and profit margin.
- Understand and interpret financial statements and budgets.
- Convey clear, concise direction with respect to company policies and procedures.
- Ensure effective execution throughout all stages of booking groups and new corporate accounts. Maintain relationships with existing accounts, groups and community organizations.
Property is a branded mid-scale hotel, located in a northern Twin Cities suburb of Shoreview. Part of multiple other locations and has support from regional staff as well as owners that care.
Quarterly bonus opportunity by achieving realistic goals. Some travel will be required for Brand and training meetings.
Qualifications: Must have previous experience as a manager, be results oriented,have a valid drivers license. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Successful candidates must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Education and/or Experience: Must have a minimum of two years of experience as Assistant General Manager or Front Office Manager in a hotel or equivalent education as a Bachelors Degree in Business Management or a two year degree in Hospitality Management.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English. Able to talk in front of groups of people.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages and have strong financial acumen including budgeting, accounting and P&L statements.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in common software applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
