Job Summary
The general laborer is responsible for assisting warehouse personnel to keep the machinery, equipment, and trucks operating in a safe and efficient manner.

- Performs general maintenance and repairs on brakes, suspensions, drive trains, electrical, and engine repair as needed.
- Conduct safety and maintenance inspections daily on motorized industrial equipment prior to operating.
- Repairs, modifies, installs, and maintains equipment related to operations such as trucks, trailers, forklifts, skid steers, tractors, compactors, balers, and other specialized, and / or industrial equipment.
- Pick up trash around facility and clean shop floor as needed.
- Recognize and comply with OSHA safety and health rules.
- May perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the elements, fumes, varying degrees of hot or cold temperatures, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires frequent sitting, standing, grasping and maneuvering, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing and down all day. The employee must frequently lift items over 50 pounds and push or pull items up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
- Six months of similar experience.
- Must be at least 18 to operate motorized industrial equipment.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Vocational training in mechanical, engine, electrical, or welding are helpful.
