The General Laborer position assists the skilled craft personnel in performing required construction tasks to complete a project.
6 days per week, 10-12 hour days.

Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. (Additional duties may be assigned)

• Extensive travel will be required for this position.
• Ability to work 8 to 12 hour shifts, on marine construction projects
• Sweeps and cleans the project site.
• Carries lumber and supplies to Carpenters
• Helps carpenters assemble concrete forms
• Assists welders when needed
• Works with cranes and rigging
• Assists in pouring concrete
• Acts as signal person for the equipment operators
• Helps to unload and load tucks
• Chips, paints, sweeps and washes down equipment on the job site
• Safely secure the work area to allow only authorized personnel onto work zone
• Loads and unloads materials from, deck barges, and miscellaneous equipment
• Performs JSA’s prior to work activity and execute the work accordingly
• Ability to swim
• Willing to work day or night shift
• Ability able to tolerate, vibrations, heat, and high noise levels
• Ability to communicate well as part of a small team, and work cooperatively with other colleagues.
• Ability to give and receive, understand, respond and follow verbal and written communication/ and instructions
• Ensures compliance with Manson’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct; Maintains a high standard of ethical behavior, encourages ethical behavior in others, supports ethical decisions and actively seeks appropriate resolution to potential ethical conflicts
• Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment

Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school, GED, or equivalent diploma
• Operates four wheel rough terrain vehicles for transport and delivery
• Proficient working with standard laborer tools such as (but not limited to): sledgehammers, shovels, brooms, vacuums, pressure washers and general hand tools
• Must be able to communicate: give, receive, understand, follow and respond to verbal and written instructions
• Must have reliable transportation

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or eligibility is a requirement of the position.
• Must have a valid picture identification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position, including:

• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on marine vessels in water
• Able to safely execute duties in and round heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites
• Able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, safety glasses, personal flotation devices, respirators, etc.)
