Plans, directs and coordinates activities for new construction.

Seneca Companies is a leader in the petroleum industry, specializing in the installation and maintenance of underground and above ground fuel systems. We are seeking an experienced construction professional for our Construction Superintendent opening. This position plans, directs and coordinates activities for the construction of gas stations and their facilities. Superintendents oversee various projects, manage laborers/carpenters and sub contractors, budgeting and implementation. This position requires extensive travel (typically Mon-Fri) with frequent overnight stays.

Responsibilities:

• Provides direct supervision of all field personnel, service and construction projects and handles field problem-solving and project decision-making activities as needed.
• Assists in the development of safety policies and guidelines and monitors and directs field personnel’s adherence to Company safety standards.
• Monitor all personnel on site (employees and sub contractors) to ensure compliance with OSHA safety practices.
• Communicates with project managers, contractors, and/or design professionals to resolve construction problems and provide progress udpates.
• Inspects projects for quality and compliance with building/safety codes and/or regulations.
• Monitors projects for compliance with environmental regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years construction experience in a supervisory role
• Knowledge of the general contracting industry.
• Knowledge of underground petroleum fuel systems preferred, but not required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Availability to travel extensively with frequent overnight stays.
