Roles and Responsibilities:
Job Summary/Overview:
As a GCS (Gas & Chemical Systems) Control Room Operator at Samsung, you will be a member of a shift operations team focusing on safe and reliable supply of gas and chemicals to a large semiconductor manufacturing facility. You will train on equipment, systems and job duties at Samsung Austin Semiconductor until late-2023 and then transition to our new facility in Taylor, TX
Specific Job Duties:
- Monitor performance of onsite gas and chemical supply systems
- Investigate any alarms/warnings, abnormal conditions or adverse trends in monitored parameters
- Direct immediate corrective actions and for any safety or quality of supply issues
- Report incidents immediately via the department's escalation process
- Perform initial data gathering for any supply interruptions or quality issues to include manufacturing impact, timeline, data analysis and root cause investigation
- Communicate important and relevant information to affected stakeholders
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to remain fully aware of all work on GCS equipment
- Control access to areas / equipment belonging to GCS Department
- Collaborate with equipment engineers and controls team to optimize alarm levels and set points
- Develop response guides, procedures and training to improve operations
- Complete applicable passdown sections and reports to record shift activities and capture any issues or operations carried over to the next shift.
- Participate in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance
- Support the development of safety and quality projects to improve GCS system performance and reliability
Shift: Standard hours M-F 8am-5pm during training, then transitioning to 12 hour shift (alternating 3 or 4 day compressed work week)
Skills and Qualifications:
Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum years of experience required
- 2+ years of related experience
- Strong technical skills and the ability to represent the group in work coordination and execution
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, and Tools
- Systems troubleshooting experience and strong mechanical aptitude
- Evidence of previous work in a successful team environment
- Aptitude for documentation and data analysis
- Familiarity with design and installation of gas and chemical equipment including piping systems and facility support equipment
- Strong capability to work with Microsoft Office tools (excel, PowerPoint, word, etc.)
- Ability to thrive in a multi-culture environment
- Ability to work overtime / on non-scheduled days as required
