Job Summary:

This position is a highly independent position responsible for implementation of plans and maintenance of mixed landscape beds, lawns and other grounds maintenance tasks on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus.

Responsibilities:

Supports the activities of assigned field or ground areas by maintaining plant production, record keeping, and maintenance to ensure operational efficiencies.

• 15% Coordinates the planting, sowing, fertilization, trimming, watering, and spraying of assigned areas
• 5% Maintains and evaluates hardscape maintenance
• 15% Coordinates the spacing of plants, shrubs, trees, and ground cover to ensure proper growth
• 15% Maintains inventory data for assigned area including tagging, insect monitoring, and planting and moving
• 15% Develops, coordinates and executes spraying programs for fungicide, pesticide, and herbicide applications
• 15% Performs all necessary snow removal duties in the winter
• 10% Maintain all mulch beds in assigned area including refreshing and new installation
• 10% Coordinate and execute a maintenance plan for existing shrubs and ground cover in assigned area
