Description:

Provide Quality Leadership for the JASSM business area at Pike County Operations (PCO). The candidate will be responsible for leadership of Quality Engineers and Inspectors assigned to JASSM. Responsibilities may include:

Coordinates subordinate employee recruitment, selection, training and recognition / disciplinary actions.

Manages resource allocation, work assignments and establishing/maintaining an effective business rhythm.

Communicates quality requirements concerns and expectations. Effectively communicates with DCMA.

Active participant in risk and opportunity management processes.

Ensures cost commitments and financial responsibilities are met.

Ensures appropriate identification and flow down of quality requirements (internal and contractual) and effective implementation of quality requirements.

Ensures effective implementation of quality management system within JASSM.

Ensures effective implementation of a metrics program and actively address adverse trends.

Ensures product acceptance and delivery per established process and program requirements.

The Locale:

Troy, Alabama is located in the East Gulf Coastal Plains region of southeastern Alabama. Troy's climate is typical of areas along the Gulf of Mexico in that it has hot, humid summers and mild winters.

Troy is a great place to live offering lots of things to do and has a small-town charm. Troy is also a college town and is home to Troy University.

Where can you get to from Troy? Our facility in Troy is just under an hour south of Montgomery, Alabama. Troy is about 2.5 hours north of the Gulf of Mexico and Fort Walton Beach and Florida's Pan Handle. Troy is about three hours from Atlanta, GA.

Basic Qualifications:

Degree at the Bachelor level or above

Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance with SAR and must have an interim clearance prior to starting

Working knowledge of Quality Engineering methods, processes, and tools

Experience with AS9100 Quality systems

Experienced in reading and interpreting drawings and standards

Experienced in using various inspection measurement tools

Candidate must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives ("ATF") background check to obtain approval to be an "employee possessor" (of explosives or other ATF regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Desired Skills:

Quality Engineering experience in JASSM business area

Defense contractor or military contractor experience desired

Experience in Six-Sigma green belt techniques and statistical process control methods preferred

Previous Quality leadership experience in an ordinance manufacturing environment

Ability to work with and around explosives

Security Clearance Statement:

This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules:

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
