Originally established in 1877, the William Tell House is the oldest saloon in Marin County. Despite a devasting fire in 1920, the Tell House was rebuilt in 1921 and has remained a cherished community gathering place for generations. 100 years later we are stronger than ever and our team is growing! We are open Thurs, Friday, Saturdays, and Sundays (+private events/buyouts)
We are currently hiring for the position of Front of House Shift Lead:
  • A minimum of 2 years of restaurant experience
  • Management experience is a plus
  • Strong cocktail, beer and wine experience a plus
  • Ability to stand on feet for 8 hr. shift

Responsibilities:
  • Assists the General Manager in ensuring the daily front of house operation responsibilities are being completed with the highest standards
  • Greeting guests and addressing any questions they may have regarding the menu or flow of service
  • Take customer orders while being able to speak to the details of the menu offerings. Must become familiar with the William Tell House menu and knowledgeable about offerings and local sources
  • Properly entering customer orders, modifications, and allergies in the Upserve POS system
  • Checking that patrons who order alcoholic beverages are of the legal drinking age and review their proper identification
  • Monitor the intake of alcohol of guests, prohibiting the sale to those who are intoxicating
  • Operate in compliance with federal, state, and local law requirements for serving alcohol
  • Running food and drinks to tables as needed to support team members
  • Touching tables and checking in with customers when moving about the premises
  • As needed clear tables of all soiled linens, silverware, and plate, glassware and condiments
  • Maintain self-serve water station, being sure to refill water, replenish glasses and wipe up any spilled water
  • Assist in monitoring tables for guest satisfaction, quality, and additional service
  • Inform GM or Manager on Duty of any potential guest issues
  • Work diligently to avoid breakage and loss
  • Promptly deliver food to guests being careful to maintain the appearance of the dish in transit
  • Ensure that guests have all proper silverware, condiments when delivering food
