The University of Virginia Office of University Communications seeks a Front-End Developer to join our Digital Unit. The Front-End Developer will work alongside another Front-End Developer and a Back-End Developer to execute digital, search, and content strategies for the University's main institutional platforms. The successful candidate should be motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming and must be able to translate flat design files to clean, accessible, and sometimes interactive user experiences. The Front-End Developer will work in partnership with designers and content producers across the organization in a collaborative environment that is both demanding and supportive.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Front-end executions and approaches that bring to life UX strategy, creative design, or ad hoc improvements. This will include stand-alone digital storytelling (articles, video players, photography), advertising and creative campaigns, and enhancements to digital platforms, including www.virginia.edu, brand.virginia.edu, and news.virginia.edu.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in web design, web development, computer science, or related discipline. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Required Experience: Up to one year of professional experience.

Anticipated Salary Range: $60,000-$80,000, commensurate with experience.
