The Position:
Greet patients and register them into the system. Responsible for collecting copayments, handling referrals, and verifying all demographical information, including review of insurance cards. Assist patients by scheduling appointments. Maintain the flow of the office by performing all assigned duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Greet patients in a pleasant, professional manner.
- Register patients in the system as they arrive for their appointment.
- Obtain and enter patient referrals into the system.
- Scan insurance cards, and photo ID.
- Obtain pharmacy benefit cards for the pharmacy.
- Post copayments in a daily journal. At the end of each day make sure that the money collected matches what has been posted in the journal. When totals match, close the journal.
- Collect patient balances.
- Obtain and enter all demographical information from patients.
- Request as needed demographical information from hospitals.
- Documenting and sending of medical records and understanding prescribed orders.
- Schedule patient appointments.
- Answer phones at high volumes.
- Handle physician tasks (ranging from requesting reports, to placing phone calls).
- Schedule admissions, and procedures, obtaining authorizations as needed.
- Sort, open and distribute mail, and faxes, emails, system inboxes.
- Check patients out.
- Maintain and oversee waiting room environment.
- If assigned, obtain radiology precerts.
- Availability – Degree to which employee is prompt, follows rules concerning break and meal periods and overall attendance

- All other duties as assigned.
- 2+ Clinical Front Desk experience
- Strong MS Excel skills, including formulas
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task, effectively with minimal supervision
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma; Minimum of one-year experience working in a medical office.
