At Mindojo, we’re developing an adaptive education platform used by market-leading test-prep courses such as Bloomberg Exam Prep. Recently we began developing a sophisticated app offering a powerful set of learning games for kids learning English as a Second Language (ESL), targeting ~1B kids world wide. The app is still in early beta but already has 1M+ users (check out “Aylee Learns English” on Google Play).

We’re looking for a talented freelance video editor to work with us on high-quality amusing video clips that will be used in our e-learning app for children. You should be a great storyteller, with a great sense of humor and a feel for what kids might find most engaging. We will give you access to our large library of source videos, ranging from cats doing funny things to weird accidents (non-violent) to short stories, and you will work to generate short, engaging clips extracted from those. A key part of the work will be to choose appropriate sound tracks/effects (also from our large library) and sync those with each clip that you extract.

This role requires the editor to work well both independently and in close collaboration with the team, incorporating feedback from various stakeholders.

We offer a part-time contract role. You can work from wherever you wish and the work schedule is very flexible.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in video editing
• Experience editing directly with video production software – Adobe Premiere & After Effects, and/or Final Cut Pro, or similar software
• Possess a home editing suite capable of handling up to 4K footage
• Comfortable with a highly iterative creative process, able and willing to try things quickly and learn from each pass
• Ability to think creatively and produce superb work under tight deadlines
• Excellent organizational skills and a proactive attitude are essential
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
