Sylvan is looking for a Franchise Business Consultant for it’s Southwest Region. As a Franchise Business Consultant (FBC) for Sylvan Learning, your role is centered around serving franchisees in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona grow and be successful in operating their business(es). You will act as the liaison between Franchisees and Franchisor with regards to performance and accountability. Sylvan FBCs have the unique opportunity and responsibility to be involved with every aspect of the Sylvan business; including Technology, Education, Product Development, Finance, and Legal.

As a Successful Franchise Business Consultant, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing strategic operational support in the areas of customer service, revenue growth, sales, marketing, profitability, management, and quality control.
  • Coaching and leading Franchisees and their teams regarding sales goals and accountability towards those goals, providing coaching and resources at every step.
  • Executing in-person and remote training related to sales and new/updated processes and other key initiatives as they arise.
  • Onboarding franchisees using Sylvan’s multi-channel Certification approach.
  • Influencing Franchisees to adopt best practices, new technologies, and success behaviors through effective communication and explanation of the benefits of these programs and behaviors.
  • Coordinating with additional company resources to support franchise growth and profitability.
  • Conducting Quality Assurance Reviews (QAR) to ensure compliance to the Sylvan License Agreement, Operations Manual and growth initiatives to maximize center and territory performance.
  • Communicating corporate initiatives and specifications.
  • Accurately documenting all communications related to franchisee interactions.
  • Collecting best practices from the field and communicating them to the Corporate team.
  • Collecting and sharing feedback from Franchise operations to the Corporate Team.
  • Performing site evaluations which includes brand standards and relocation assistance.
  • Additional duties as required.

We require:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus a 3-5 years of multi-unit operations management experience
  • Previous Franchise management experience or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrated high-level of accommodation and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment of constant change
  • Proven track record of driving revenue, profitability, and of meeting operational goals
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills as well as excellent problem resolution skills
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and consultative communication skills with the ability to influence, coach, and motivate
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and time management skills
  • Motivated, self-manager with strong team orientation
  • Knowledge of Sylvan programs and systems preferred
  • Must demonstrate a high-level of accommodation and flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment of constant change; able to perform well under pressure with deadlines
  • The ideal candidate will be well organized and confident to work independently but also a strong team player
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Desire to consistently grow and develop your career

Travel Requirements:

  • This is a full-time, hybrid remote role that can performed in either Texas or Oklahoma
  • Ability to travel up to 25%; focusing on the Southwest region
