Omaha Steel is currently seeking a reliable individual to join the Omaha Steel Foundry team as a 1st Shift Foundry Supervisor:
Influence, train and communicate with other employees to produce quality castings while reducing scrap and rework, meeting on time shipment schedules, minimizing cost and maintaining a positive work environment.
Duties, Responsibilities and Skills:
- Manage and develop employees
- Manage the cost of the department
- Train employees on procedures
- Reduce/eliminate scrap
- Establish intervals of tooling repair/cleaning
- Communicate with other supervisors to improve quality and productivity
- Act in a professional manner when conducting business for the company
- Lead employees with direction and influence; maintain a positive working environment
- Conduct quality inspections and carry out reaction plans as needed to resolve issues
- Carry out aspects of a Supervisor
- Operate manual machines and power hand tools
- Perform documentation such as routing, scheduling and quality
Requirements
- Must have High School diploma or GED; two (2)+ years experience preferred; leadership training and forklift experience are a plus.
- Must be able to lead, supervise and work with a variety of employees
- Must be able to schedule production as needed
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must be able to multitask
- Must be a good communicator
- Must possess good writing skills.
- Able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks in an unsupervised manner
- Must have reliable attendance, willing to work flexible hours, & work well with others
- Must perform other duties as assigned
