Full time, day shift opportunities with Carilion Clinic Dining and Nutrition Services - Includes Cook and Food Services Associates for multiple locations: CRCH Cafe, Patient Services, or Central Kitchen. Some weekends required. Opportunities are Roanoke-based with $2,000 sign on bonus available for select positions. Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or GED preferred but not required.

Experience: Food Service experience preferred.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: In areas in which employee is deemed in charge of departmental operations, SERV-Safe Certification or equivalent certification from the Virginia Health Department is required; or ability to obtain certification within year one in this position.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Keyboarding or computer skills for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records preferred. Must successfully complete orientation and competency validation for position. Basic literacy (reading and writing skills) required to perform essential job functions. Must be able to communicate effectively and read written materials.

Position is deemed ‘emergency personnel’ during emergency weather conditions. Must provide own transportation and travel to other Carilion work sites. May be required to work at other Carilion facilities to meet staffing needs.
