Job description
The Food Service Worker is an integral part of Bethany Children's Health Center team. This position is responsible for providing support to the hospital cafeteria in a variety of tasks associated with the kitchen, dish room, storeroom and other areas of the hospital.
Full & Part-Time positions are available with early morning, afternoon and weekend shifts available! Be sure to provide your availability in your submitted application.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver food trays to patients and other duties within the principles of safe food handling as per HACCP guidelines
- Pours and delivers formula, snacks and other nutritional items
- Assist with various processes related to the overall success of the Nutrition Department
- Receives grocery and produce orders, as well as, properly storing all items in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitization of dishes, tableware, glassware, pots, pans and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods
- Attend and participate in all mandatory “in-service” and staff meetings
- Keeps accurate and detailed records related to assigned duties
- Works as a cohesive team member and communicates openly with team and healthcare professionals
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: Ability to speak, understand, read and write English required, Food preparation or related work experience desirable
COVID-19 Vaccination:
Bethany Children's Health Center requires all employees to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment unless a documented medical or religious exemption is approved. Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen.
To be qualified for employment at Bethany Children's Health Center, all current positions and final candidates must comply with the vaccination requirement or receive an approved exemption.
Base Pay & Shift Differentials:
Food Service Worker positions begin at $15.52 per hour and go up based on education and experience.
Bethany Children's Health Center also offers shift differentials for working evening, nights or weekend hours. If you were to work those time frames, that amount would be added to your hourly base rate each hour. Approved rates are as follows:
- Weekdays - 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m: +$1.25/hour
- Weekdays - 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m: +$1.25/hour
- Weekends - 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m: +$1.50/hour
- Weekends - 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m: +$2.75/hour
- Weekends - 11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m: +$3.00/hour

Bethany Children’s Health Center is an innovative leader in the field of pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care.
