Assist the Cooks with routine food preparation, food storage, and maintaining the cleanliness of the food service, dining and storage areas; follows Federal and state sanitation regulations.

Assists the Cooks in the preparation of meals; operates kitchen equipment and utensils as directed, and according to proper safety and sanitation procedures.

Cleans and maintains clean, orderly, safe and sanitary conditions in facility in order to assure the highest degree of cleanliness of food production and service areas.

Assures safe and sanitary handling standards are met when receiving, preparing and storing food.

Prepares the dining area for each meal; serves meals as required.

Assist in receiving and storing food provisions.

May be required to work a non-traditional work schedule to include evening, holidays and weekends and may be subject to 24 hour on-call status.

Respect clients by recognizing their rights and maintaining confidentiality, including HIPAA requirements.

Protect self, co-workers and consumers by following policies and procedures to prevent the spread of blood borne and/or airborne diseases.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of North Slope Borough policies and procedures.

Knowledge of proper sanitation practices and personal hygiene regulations.

ADEC sanitation certificate for food service workers;

Applicant must pass a criminal history background check conducted by the State of Alaska Background Check Unit;

Documentation that the individual is free from active pulmonary tuberculosis.
